This work will need to be carried out by persons who are competent do do the work.
Small jobs, such as replacing a socket outlet or a light switch, on an existing circuit, Will not need to be notified to a Building Control body.
However work in kitchens & special locations, adding of a new circuit & replacing a consumer unit,Will have to be notified to Building Control.
This work must be carried out by an approved & competent person, who is registered with a Part P.
Self-certification Scheme, or notified to Building Control, who will arrange to have the work tested for a fee.
